Pointe au Chien House Blessings
Through the fall and winter of 2024-2025, volunteers from the Mennonite Disaster Services, Disaster Aid Ohio, Christian Public Services, and Christian Aid Ministries rebuilt six homes in Pointe au Chien! On March 20, 2025, the Pointe au Chien community gathered with volunteers, donors, and supporters to celebrate six families returning home after two and a half years. As spring comes in Louisiana, new life and hope is rebuilding everywhere.
A Season of Celebration
Six families from the Pointe au Chien Indian Tribe are returning home this spring! It has been two and a half years since Hurricane Ida destroyed their houses, and they are overjoyed to be back. These houses are built to withstand hurricanes similar to Ida; these families have no intention of leaving again any time soon.
